What's Your Take on the Coaster Clubs?
It was the place to be if you were interested in meeting up with others who enjoyed going to the parks and riding coasters.
Once the internet gained popularity, it became easier for other "coaster clubs" to spring up and attract members.
Today there are dozens of coaster clubs all over the world.
Each one is a little different and boasts different perks and reasons why someone might want to join.
On this week's show, we want to know your opinion on coaster clubs. Which ones have you joined? Why did you think it was important? What's your favorite part about being in the club? Is there a "dark side" to being in the group?
If you haven't joined a club in the past, what has kept you from doing so? What are the reasons you prefer to visit the parks without an established group?
What about the "wars" that go on between the different clubs? Is that just "high school drama" all over again or is there a good reason for the hostility?

CoasterRadio.com #533 - The Summer 2011 Anthem is Here!
For every summer we can remember, there has always been an unofficial "anthem" recorded by the biggest pop star of the day. It's a song that EVERYONE listened to on their way to the beach or the theme park.
In the 80's it was the Fresh Prince, in the 90's it was Ricky Martin and today, it might be Katy Perry or Cee Lo Green.
But this week, we premiere what might be the #1 hit song for this summer! It's a once in a lifetime colloboration!
We also get a live report from opening day of Windseeker at Kings Island. Does the 300 foot tall spinning thrill machine live up to the hype? We'll find out!
Plus, we'll hear from listeners all over the world as they tell us about their favorite spots at their home parks. We'll find out about the special places off the beaten path where people can get away from the noise and crowds!

The "Producer for a Day" Contest!
"You guys should let me produce the show!" Then, they go on to list a hundred ideas that they would do if they ran the Original Theme Park Podcast.
Normally, we politely thank them for their e-mail and then steal all of their ideas. But now, we're giving loyal listeners a chance to make CoasterRadio.com history!
If you win the "Producer for a Day" Contest, you get to produce an entire episode of the show. You decide what we talk about, what games we play, what calls we take.
Plus, you get something and even Mike and EB don't get... a paycheck - $50 in cash!
Here are the rules - In 30 seconds or less, sell us on why you’d make a good “Producer for a Day.”
Tell us what you’d do, what segments you’d create, what guests you’d book and how you’d make YOUR episode unique.
You can e-mail us the address on the left (or use the Contact Form)
You can leave a message at 206-339-3360
You can record an MP3 and send it to us.
Or you can post a video on YouTube.
All entries must be in by July 15th (for all your Podlaggers)
Good luck!

Your Favorite Theme Park Spot
I usually grab a drink or a bite to eat and then just sit there in that spot and watch the coaster go by over and over again.
It's a great place to take a break during the middle of the day and watch the gracefulness of one of the best roller coasters on earth.
Outside of Disney, that's one of my favorite spots in any theme park.
For this week's show, EB and I want to know about YOUR favorite spot in a park.
What makes it special? Why is it a place you visit time and time again?

CoasterRadio.com #531 - Time Machine Show - Part 3
Yes, the photoshopping sucks, but I made it in two minutes! |
On our last show, we left you with a cliff hanger... EB and Mike were stuck somewhere in the Space Time Continuum.
This week, we find out where they have been and if if they can successfully get back to 2011.
But, since they're travelling in time anyway, they decide to stop in 2006 to listen in on an old episode about going to the parks alone.
The CoasterRadio.com audience also chimes in to tell their own stories about going it alone during a trip to the park. Plus, Mike has a run-in during his recent solo trip to Hersheypark with the wannabe cast of "Jersey Shore." You'll hear how Mike channeled his "Inner-NPH" to resolve the situation.
We'll also have a Live Trip Report from Six Flags America and an update from "The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure" at Disney California Adventure.
AND... we also celebrate a very usual milestone in the show's history!

CoasterRadio.com #530 - Time Machine Show - Part 2
This week, we're combining the time travel rules from Back to the Future, Bill and Ted, Time Cop, The Time Traveler's Wife and Quantum Leap to listen in on one of our favorite shows from the past.
We'll head back to January of 2006 to hear the "Joint Chiefs ™" talk about the pros and cons of paying to get to the front of the line.
And since we have a Time Machine, we just might try to head into the future to see if the parks have taken the idea of "Pay for Play" too far!
We'll also hear a Live Trip Report from two of our newest listeners who just got to check out the updated version of "Star Tours." Plus, we'll have news about how EB's son Mark is a bona fide television star in the theme park universe! And, we'll have an update on the NPH Project!
